Animal Art Paintings

Here are my two most recent paintings. One from last night and one from today.

I painted these fish in a Fuchsia Pearl and accented them in Crimson Red for the scales, black for the eyes, and a sheer top coat of Martha Stewart Living Gold Dust Glitter specialty finish. The canvas is light pink with a coat of the same Gold Dust Specialty finish.

I painted this owl today on a green canvas with a layer of Martha Stewart Living Gold Dust Glitter Specialty Finish. The owl is lavender with dark purple pupils and I used midnight blue for the accents. Snooty looking owl. But owls always look snooty or mean to me. I still love them.

I love the Martha Stewart Living Glitter Specialty Finishes and need to collect every single shade/color!!! Right now I only have Gold Dust and that makes me sad.

Netflix and brainstorming

So much fun making these handmade journals! I ended up making six of them 💕

Today's agenda includes staring at my existing/remaining art supplies while I watch Netflix (a historical drama called "Reign") and find my inspiration.

Custom handmade notebook

I finished this project today and it was so much fun, I will definitely be making more! I followed the instructions from a YouTube tutorial, which you can find the link to in my previous post.

Here are my results:

The hardest part was poking holes in the paper with my needle, prior to stitching the binding. As you can see my needle started to bend! I went with a smaller needle when the time came to sew the stitch.

I may have used thread that was a little too thick. Next time I won't double up on the sewing needle.

Ta-da!

Custom Notebook Journal DIY

I came across this video on YouTube and it is such a great idea! I'm going to make a custom notebook/journal when I wake up! Thanks #sharonbemakinstuff

I can't wait to show off my results. I have some pretty bitchin' scrapbook paper that I've been waiting to use.

Learning to sew, slowly but surely

I finished this clutch purse today. I'm super proud of it! I love sewing little clutch bags and throw pillows, because they are fun to make, and those are the only two things I've learned how to sew. Aside from hemming pants, and patching up holes. I still don't get clothing patterns and I can't fathom how people sew buttons onto things with a sewing machine, but I'll learn eventually. Anyways, here's my clutch bag I finished today. I sewed the clutch purse on my sewing machine, and the button closure is hand-sewn.

It has a dark blue sateen interior lining but I didn't take a picture of it.

Quick update.

The silicone ii molds I made didn't break after all, but it was difficult to remove my castings because the molds are not at all flexible. The molds will probably be good for a few more uses, but next time I make my own molds I will be sure to use silicone i (plus cornstarch and a little bit of baby oil). It is the silicone i that creates flexible and reusable molds.

I made myself a pair of pink flower earrings and a pink skull ring with my resin castings last night...

The exact shade of pink is somewhere between the two colors shown in the photos above.

My new favorite earrings!

But this is still my favorite ring:

I have quite a few of these in my Etsy shop. They're really nice looking rings and they're also gender neutral.
